Oregon Issues Seventh Annual Report
on Legal Physician Assisted Suicide

SALEM, March 11, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) –The seventh annual report on legalized physician-assisted suicide (PAS) for Oregon residents was released yesterday. The report summarizes the information collected on patients and physicians who engaged in the practice from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004. The report notes that 37 Oregonians used lethal drugs provided by doctors to kill themselves in 2004. Oregon doctors opposed to the practice formed a group called Physicians for Compassionate Care. They note that the overdoses were prescribed by a few dozen Oregon doctors-many of whom are actively promoting assisted suicide.
